Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26 1991) better known by her real moniker Ari Lennox is an American artist and songwriter hailing of Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist to be affiliated with J. Cole's label Dreamville Records. Her first single was released with the label on October 21st of 2016 with the title Pho. It was then that she started to gain recognition. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. The release date was May of 2019. Ari Lennox posted her debut songs online in the year 2012. She released five singles in 2013 and Five Finger Discount in 2013 and Ariography EP in 2013. Her uploads continued songs online throughout 2014, with the release of her independent single Bound. In 2015, she performed on Omen's Elephant Eyes Album in the track "Sweat It Out" on the 21st of July. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville team at the time would like to see her do some Rihanna references. The official signing ceremony was held by Dreamville Records on 8 December. The singer appeared on the album collaboratively titled Revenge of the Dreamers II in the track Backseat featuring Cozz. In October 21, 2016, she released her debut EP called Pho. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening performer in support of J. Cole on his track Change in 2017. She also appeared on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. She also appeared as a guest performer on two tracks, including the EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song as well as Bas' Icarus. On July 16 2018 Ari Lennox released the first single, Whipped Cream on her first album Shea Butter Baby with an accompanying music video that was released on September 5. On the 9th of November she released two other singles, 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. She then released on November 13 two brand new singles, titled"No One and pedigree. Later, she was featured as a guest on the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on a track titled Shea Butter Baby on November 16, which was then released as a single on February 26, 2019 for her debut album the same title. The track was supported by the music video which debuted on February 20, 2019, which reached 3 million views on YouTube in one week. In December 2018, she performed as a supporting act on The From East Atlanta With Love Tour together with 6LACK.
